the clouds tried to be supportive
but could not, really
perhaps on some emotional level
in their bright apparent solidity
they tried
to offer guidance or ideas,
being enormous and solid and towering
Then cotton,dissolving.

Making our snocones
and ski slopes seem so crude.

If you've seen them close up
When they're in that mood.

And i think they offered
for a moment
to hold me up,
but reconsidered at the last minute
or were only
joking.
